Using VoiceOver to listen to Text While Driving
VoiceOver on the 3GS is a wonderful technology. By using the tips below you'll be able to quickly toggle VoiceOver on and off, and have VoiceOver read entire articles to you during your commute!*
1: Setup a VoiceOver Hotkey "Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-click Home > [Choose "Toggle VoiceOver"]"
2: Now that you have this turned on, copy the news article and text you want read to your iPhone's clipboard.
3: Open the "Notes" application and paste the information here.
4: Now Triple-click your home button, then hold your finger down on the pasted text. VoiceOver will now read the entire article to you!
The reason you don't want to have it read the Safari page itself, is you'll have to hold your finger over each paragraph that you want read. Pasting it in the Notes application makes VoiceOver read the entire article to you.
Enjoy!
*(Requires 3GS/3rd Gen iPod touch running 3.1 or later)
