This is a demo of the Yamaha DTX900 series.  They have Textured Cellular Silicone (T.C.S) surfaces that make the pads feel like a real drum.   Each XP pad is also equipped with a shock absorber, so you don't have to hold back when you play.

The drums are incredibly sensitive and responsive to how you play and perfectly emulate real acoustic drums.  These really are quite incredible.

For the past few weeks I've been testing the applicable use for iPad drums during a live performance.  Some of the difficulties include keeping the iPad stable during the live performance, making sure the impacts are correct as they can sometimes vary while in a live environment, and practice, practice, practice!

iPad drums are in a lot of ways fundamentally different than live drums because you don't have a midi bass drum pedal/controller.  Everything is with your hands and this changes the way you have to play and know how to play drums.

So far I've gotten better playing live so I decided to see what I could do in a recording.  The piano in the background is simply the iPad/GarageBand smart piano and the drums are all 100% me.

I just wanted to create something absolutely insane using GarageBand for iPad.  I created a unique drum beat and used the sampler machine to make a deranged chicken sound as the background lol.  This isn't the final version (believe it or not) but enjoy!
